Our beautiful Island is divided into ten parishes. Each one is administered by officials (Douzeniers and Constables). Their responsibilities includes:-


  • Ensuring that roadside hedges are trimmed

  • Supervising watercourses and streams (douits)

  • Administering Parish cemeteries

  • Maintaining wayside pumps and troughs

  • Collecting Parish rates

  • Issuing dog licences and collecting dog tax

  • Managing parish boat moorings

  • Churches

  • Noxious weed control

  • Refuse
